PM Narendra Modi To Visit UNESCO On April 10


PARIS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visiting the UNESCO headquarters on April 10 to meet its director general Irina Bokova and address various issues, a statement said.

During the meeting, Modi will address the diplomatic community, private sector representatives, UNESCO staff, and leading personalities, including UNESCO's Paris-based goodwill ambassadors.

During the meeting, they will discuss cooperation between Unescco and India, which has been an active member of the organisation since its creation in 1946, a statement said.

Modi will also offer flowers to the statue of Sri Aurobindo, the Indian philosopher, yogi and poet who took part in India's independence campaign.

He is also expected to focus on UNESCO's contribution to the post-2015 sustainable development agenda and will offer a reflection on the ethical and moral values that must guide the organisation's work, the statement said.
